still boys??? Ameraucana genders?****UPDATED PICS 10/26, 18 WEEKS****

** LOOK AT BOTTOM OF THIS POST FOR THEIR NEW PICS, 18 WEEKS**

I have two Ameraucanas (from a breeder's eggs). They are both 12 weeks old. What are your thoughts on their gender(s)?

Also I've heard splash roos are usually darker than hens as chicks. Is this true or just an old wives' tale?

Hate to say it, but both look like roos to me. Love the blue one though very pretty.

For BBS, yes.

by the way - LOVE that mystery girl with the golden barred (?) neck and blue body.

If you wanted a higher percentage of blue chicks then yes keep the blue. If I am not mistaken when you breed Splash X Black you get 100% Blue Chicks. So either one would be fine its which ever one you prefer.

she's actually one of two golden cuckoo marans I hatched out with the ameraucana boys. Was going to keep them with my B/B/S ameraucana pen for some possible olive eggers! I'll post some better pics of them if you.guys would like to see her better!
