Walking Wolf has the best advice I've seen offered. I'd do what he says and do it quick. Sounds like with proper repo papers and authorities would be the proper way to take care of the matter. I'd consider hiring someone (either a PI or a repo guy) to investigate and find the location of the uncle.

have you tried a constable... when my dads horses they helped alot...since you know who has him maybe you can talk to a judge and get some help that way... also place alot of flyers around at feed stores,vets... anywhere you can think of ... put ads up in newspapers ... good luck.. I hope your horse back...

All I can say for now is that I've got a ranger involved now. He was the head chief of my hometown's police force and now has jurisdiction over OK and AR. He's making a case against the man and is appalled at how the DA and sheriff's departments have handled it. He's going to be talking to them to see if he can get some pressure going and if not, he's going to discuss the entire matter with the General Attorney.

I'll update more as I'm more sure of what's going to happen, but all I can say is that it is FINALLY looking up!
