Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

I had today on my calendar. This has made me really upset. I just cursed. Im a kid, since when do I curse? Since Today. Im sorry but something is wrong with our Justice System. 100 years ago, You would "call" the police, they would go get your horse, give it to you, and arrest the dude. It would have taken a day tops. Not a Frickin Year. Dont they have enough proof that it is your horse? Isnt that all they need? If it was a TV that was stolen they would get it back ASAP. But if its a Horse , NOOO. No one cares about the Horse. I am never moving to Oklhoma. And if I do, God Forbid I have something stolen.

Sorry Ropo

You know what, I've been through this kind of crap with local court systems myself and you do everything right and get screwed. I'd skip the local courts and call People's Court at this point. That gets you a civil trial to get your horse back without having to deal with the local courts at all and you can be sure you don't get some judge who is all buddy buddy with the accused.

Our issue was a property issue. We got a lawyer and everything, but he didn't do a lick of work on it because he said it was such a clear-cut case. It was clear-cut; the neighbor had miles of road frontage and numerous roads through his own property. He insisted on driving through my front yard and putting his cows in my field. I had a binder full of evidence, but nobody would look at it. The judge went through the motions, but we lost anyway. We found out later the other guy and the judge were old friends. We ended up moving.

Skip the local courts. Good people can't win and your horse is just too important to leave to this mess.

Here are her local media phone numbers:

KJRH: 918-743-2222
KOTV: 918-583-1502
KTUL: 918-445-8888
FOX23/ KOKI: 918-491-0023

This is what she has told them:

I've only been telling them the recent happenings, but have mentioned that it's been going on since August 2009:
I've tried since August to get my horse back from a man that embezzled it. The man who embezzled is now in the middle of a criminal hearing/investigation, however the man that was sold my horse continues to believe he is the rightful owner. An ownership hearing was scheduled by the Cherokee County DA's office. The original hearing was Dec. 16, 2009. That judge later recused on Jan. 6, 2010. The second judge that was scheduled recused also. The third judge refused to reside over the hearing because the second judge did not turn in the correct paperwork. The third hearing date was set for February 25, however after 30 minutes after the hearing was to have started, word was sent out that there was not going to be a hearing for that date. It is now more than a week later and I have yet to hear anything from the DA's office as to when the next hearing will be.

This is her court reference number:
CF-2009-0485 Cherokee County, OK

If they get calls from all over the country, maybe someone will take interest.

Only two of us (admittedly) wrote letters to the local newspaper, district attorney, & state attorney. I please ask the rest of you following this topic to write as well.

To Whom It May Concern -

I count my lucky stars I'm not from Oklahoma or Tahlequah, OK for sure.

What's the deal with your town? A horse (Max) was leased then stolen then sold to an uncle and the real owner can't get her horse back.

She's going through the legal system since April 09 with no results.

Someone please help this poor girl get Max back.

As a Horse Owner and having had a Horse Stolen from me, I will be writing letters and calling for you. Justice should be that, not let's screw over the victim!!!!!

Does anyone have an email for the DA, I bet if they came in one morning and had 800 emails all about the same thing they might take notice, also with email you will have proof it was sent. I can send one through outlook and flag it so I know it has been read....

I just fired off another email to: [email protected]

Come on people, send something as well. Doing something/anything/ all you can to help.

Anything is better than sitting back and checking in with this topic just to see the OP has been put off once again.

Thank you so much.

Sincerely,
