I also used my name and paid email addy.

They gave up. That's all there is to it. They pretty much said as much in their, "we don't have the manpower to go through all of these" comment.

It's not really their fault, I suppose. They're just not equipped for this sort of thing. Whenever I'm out with my four kiddos, I'm very aware of the fact that four kiddos can be very overwhelming and do my best to keep them from being so. We strong minded loud moutehd backyard farmers can be pretty overwhelming, too.

They did use the word "Hundreds" referring to the amount of comments they got.

I'm laughing my rear off. I wasn't crass or name cally but yea also had mine deleted. I bet they only went through a few, put up one then plunked that editors note on there and went from there, explains the *insert crass word* who's sitting on their rear hollering at us for doing exactly what /they/ are doing by sitting on their rear and hollerin' at us. ;D

I just find it boggling they accused us of being like a very few people using the same ip/fake names to post. Maybe one person /did/ but I certainly doubt that accounts for more than 10% of the response they got and they decided to generalize. I also doubt they got /threatened/. No one I know in BYC is immature enough to threaten someone for simply running a news paper article on this. So I'm 100% sure it wasn't /us/.

Thank you all!

Unfortunately, Channel 2 shows no interest at all. I've emailed, called, faxed. Still nothing from them. They said that they would call me if they were interested in it.

Their post was an attempt to try and scare those posting on ROPO's side to stop and go away (it was a threat plain and simple) and an attempt to discredit her.

Sorry, but I've read every one of the articles and there is clear bias. You can say sloppy journalism if you want, but I don't buy it.

Honestly what I was thinking. They talk more about the current people who have illegal custody of the animal than they do Ropo >> She's a blurp. A small barely notable blurp. It was clearly written so short because any actual details would immediately put those people in a bad light - where they belong.

Edit - went back to re-read this... is it just me or did they alter the article? :hmm; Like... a lot of it? This time it seems a lil more neutral but still seems to imply that Ropo doesn't think the horse is hers?

"Rodriguez said she didn’t believe Trammel knew Ryals had leased the horse, and didn’t blame Trammel because she no longer had possession of the animal." To me that seems like in real life what was said was, "I believe you did not know this horse was stolen but it was and I want it back" being worded in a way that's like "well you didn't know but it wasn't in my possession anyway, so"? Am I reading that right?

They've edited several things several times. I'll bet they're even reading some here.

Even their little editor's note rant has been toned down, though it's still meant to discourage further posts for ROPO. If they put it under the Editorial's section, I wouldn't be bothered as much, but when bias is so blatant, facts so lacking and they try to pass it off as news. My 5th grader could do better.

On one hand they supposedly can't figure out they are in reality dealing with hundreds of different people (read defamation of character on ROPO here) on the other, they're being specifically threatened by absolute crazies (that they can amazingly pinpoint and distinguish exactly where these are coming from) and are turning over all details to the authorities.

Dealing with thousands of important other cases my hiney. What, I'm supposed to believe they're Tulsa or OKC. Maybe, just maybe if they would take appropriate care of the no-brainers, their docket wouldn't be so overwhelming for them.

ETA- Not familiar with slander and such, please, I'd be all over them ROPO about their blatant spamming and threat accusations towards you. Can you say screenshot fellas?

Funny thing is, a real newspaper from most anywhere else would be thrilled at the traffic.

I've been reading all day long and have seen that story change several times today...can we say busted???

I submitted a comment but it didn't show up and I forgot to save it, but it was along the same lines of everone else's replies from here.
I couldn't believe the editor's comments, which were also edited, that they only have 5 people on staff....so what? That gives you an out because you think you're safe from outside of your little community paper when you choose to enable comments on a news article on the Net and then you're shocked when you get them??

Miki, when you get Max back, move FAR away from these people!!! Lord, I thought the good old boy network was bad here.... I haven't seen anything this bad EVER when it comes to corruption!!

I just read the new article. What a joke. I still don't believe the uncle didn't know. He totally knew that horse was stolen.

Why in God's name would you ask a family member THREE TIMES if something was theirs to sell if you didn't *know* it was stolen!?! It is so ridiculous. I have never once in my life EVER thought to ask a family member if something was stolen. That says it all right there. I also agree that the quote they used from you was again, designed to make the readers sympathetic to the thieves. It is all so obvious.

I also think the whole bit about the 7-year old grandson is just one big manipulation to make them look like the victims. What a joke. Even if it is true, WHO'S FAULT IS THAT? Certainly not yours! Again, I am so sorry you are going through this.
