Nothing is EVER simple in the Rodriguez clan. Everything winds up being a big ordeal or adventure.
As for the civil suit, I just want those people in jail and forget them. I can't take any more stress in my life. I've made enemies in that town and never want to return to it.
After looking closer at the hooves, it's not to the hairline. There's at least a 1/2" of good hoof between the hairline and top of the crack. I called the farrier, but never got a return call. I'll be trying to call sometime tomorrow? If he doesn't call back, I'm moving on to a different farrier. Surely one of them will want my business.
Ropo, in a civil suit, you hire an attorney, and let them worry with everything. They call you to testify about the facts. You might have to sit in the trial. A civil suit trial on this matter should take about an hour. You enter the transcripts of the criminal trials and hearings and the judge, hopefully same judge, rules in your favor. Probally would not go with a jury. Might get all those enemies on the jury.
Sometimes it is best to just move on.
I think I would probably take my horse, the payments, and run with it. heaven KNOWS how long a civil suit would take there. Probably years and years! Don't need the aggravation!
