Congrats on getting your horse back. Haven't been following the saga at all, but I read a lot of it last week, and it must have been harrowing at times.

Get a rope and make a nightlatch.... It makes for a more secure seat.... I teach horseback riding and find it is a great tool not only for novices but for ppl needing to get back into the groove... Especially on a horse that's gait is unfamiliar. (Nightlatch is a rope to hold onto that goes through the pommel and is about 3 ft long and allows for a hand hold w/o holding the horn and putting you in an unnatural position....Let's see some pics of the first ride.... oh and video would be better....
