Sorry! Yes, it's only the wall of the hoof, not the inner hoof wall or the frog.

He also suggested mixing Vinegar with Copper Sulfate crystals. 1 cup to 1 gallon of the vinegar. As a "cheaper" method. The Kopertox is a petroleum base and can't be used when it rains (but it's summer in AR...not much rain gonna be heading this way for awhile).

He's also got an old wound. The farrier thinks it came from stepping on metal or something. He got some scar tissue off and suggested I use the Kopertox on that also just for safety's sake. He's hoping to have a good, completely healthy hoof in a year. The infection shouldn't be that long in getting rid of, but the scar tissue will definitely be there longer.

yeah i think you did, there was black stuff in the crack, the crack that max has is infected.

What? Kopertox can be used when it rains...what are you talking about? Have you ever tried to get it off your hands?

Corona is an oinment you can find in any feed store...look for a yellow tube or tin. I keep it around the house.

I like Jeffers. They can usually ship out the same day. Also, their customer service is pretty good.
