Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

I am with you. I wonder if they ever actually changed that law. Sometimes laws don't get changed and are still on the books.

Stealing a horse should still be a major offense, at least a felony, due to the value of the animal.

I am so sorry that you are in this situation. Your horse is gorgeous.

Yes, it is still on the books. The horse is worth more than some cars from what I have heard, so it darn well SHOULD be a felony!

I am thinking the guy calling you either isn't who he says he is, or is in cahoots with the guy. You need to be speaking to him through either a lawyer or the ranger. They will be using everything you say against you when it comes down to court.

Unless speaking directly to the ranger, I think all the calls and questioning need to be done through a lawyer. If they call and want to ask questions, give them the number to your lawyer and say nothing more.

FINALLY I have found a lawyer who is willing to help me.

He was the only person who would call me back after 2 weeks of trying to find someone in my area. He is only licensed in AR but can get a license in OK ASAP if he needs to.

He is going to be helping me get a formal demand written and if that doesn't work...

Ironically, he has the same name as my younger brother...go figure?

Don't think that's much of a coincidence...synchronicity - YES!!!

Hopefully the letter will scare them enough to give you the horse back. Although (since I live here, I can say this!) being the Dumb Okie Rednecks that they are, it may take more than a letter.

Those of you that don't live here...there is a difference between Rednecks, Okie Rednecks, and DUMB ones! LOL! Okies are probably the most stubborn, persistant people I've ever known. About like a bulldog...will hang on no matter what. You just have to out bulldog them. Sounds like she's got some help to finally do that!
