Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

Quote:
The DA says that the judge will not make a ruling on the ownership hearing on that date, because it's the defense's turn to show their "evidence." She can only make a ruling that the hearing will go to an actual criminal trial or dismiss the entire case against the man who sold my horse.

STILL no word on the ownership hearing.

I had one leased in Wa and sold... We never made it to court... I did however get the horse back after it was sold for 3500... I am all for the rope idea. I still have that horse.. Good luck to you... Let me know if you want to borrow my "rope"

I don't understand. Can't the judge rule on ownership NOW? Or is she waiting for the embezzlement hearing? This makes no sense.

Whether the man is guilty of embezzlement (which he IS for selling a leased horse which did not belong to him) should have no bearing on whether Ropo is the legal owner or whether the Uncle (who "unknowingly" bought a horse which did not belong to the seller) should be considered the legal owner. I think the judge should have ruled immediately and not put it off all this time. If she wasn't going to rule right then and there, why not tie the whole thing in with the embezzlement trial????

Like I said, I'm confused.

I think I would be contacting the Oklahoma State Attorney's Office at this point and demanding some quick justice. There is no reason for her to wait on the ruling of ownership. It's pretty cut and dry.

Just remember, don't push your luck. She must have a reason for postponing the ruling. She is sitting on BOTH cases and prolly wants 100% of the info before making a WRONG decision. Good things come to us that wait but GOSH HOW MUCH MORE can one person take!

please rule!!

I was wondering if you could file for temporary custody of the horse? Or file that a neutral party have custody of the horse for the safety of the horse?
