Stolen Horse--Man is BACK in jail!

He was in jail, but no, he's not been in jail since the day of the original preliminary hearing early in December.

But, I'm highly doubtful he will hold a job...I wish they would repo his assets towards it, but I'm sure that's not going to happen.

Remember as well, he claims that my horse was in awful condition, as well as the uncle claiming that Max was "at death's door, couldn't be ridden and was lame." The vet apparently wrote a statement to that effect as well...which makes me freak out as to what Max's condition is now.

The only bright spots to this whole thing is that A) A vet DID see Max and was/is presumably treating him, and B) he was alive at the time of the first hearing, or the uncle would have said something about his passing.

I can't believe they would let a beautiful horse like that go downhill from lack of care if they have ANY feelings for horses. The uncle must not know the jailbird nephew very well if he believed that the nephew was married to you, and that he owned this horse and could sell it. Didn't he ever wonder where a jobless, moneyless person like that got such a horse??

I am appalled at the way this has gone. At the very least, at the hearing, I think you should make a very quiet, very polite request for a report on Max's CURRENT condition from the vet who saw him (and we hope is continuing to see him). You have been much more patient than I would have been, but you are handling it the right way, and I commend you for it.

Prayers are with you.

RoPo, I think you are a most amazing person to handle this the way you have. Patience and perseverance. You are THE woman!

I would have totally and thoroughly wigged out by now.

WELL now, if they are dealing in drugs or something to that effect, they would have plenty of cash lying around. sooo if the uncle knew him at all, he would assume he needed drug money and sold the horse! Just my opinion!

Does anyone else understand how someone on community sentencing could be released early mind you, on the exact same day the judge recused herself form this case while there is the embezzlement case going on as well as a felony conspiracy and felony knowingly concealing stolen proprty ( this is a case inanother county http://www1.odcr.com/detail.php?Case=051-CF 0900910&County=051- ). I have decided that in OKlahoma there are the people that get into trouble for life for a 50 dollar hot check and then there are the people that it rolls off them like they have oiled skin like this guy. I am actually concidering calling DOC and get the # for aommunity sentencing in that county to ask them some rough ?s but I have already had a long day and would probablyt not be too nice about it, and sometimes that makes people not want to talk.

I forgot to tell you all.

According to the uncle at the ownership hearing, the jerk sold my horse to another woman as a roping horse. She paid $3,000. She was given a two week contract that said she could bring the horse back. LUCKILY she brought the horse back in that time frame. Oh. This happened in mid-February. The woman was in MO. Which means, MY horse left the state without a current Coggins. Nice.

I would post on every Cl forum in MO and see if you can find this lady may help getting a notorized statement and maybe even a copy of the contract to have in hand.
