an egg
Are your chickens plucking feathers and eating them, act lethargic, or are just bored (AND AREN'T LAYING) try making this!
Your chickens will LOVE this protein supplement, especially if they like corn. I like to use this for my rooster that keeps getting his tail feathers plucked out by my hens (I pictured the other way around LOL)

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
a blender
raw or boiled corn (you can use a half or a whole depending how many chickens your making this for)
1 or 2 hard boiled eggs (depending on how many chickens) (NO RAW EGGS).
whatever veggies your chickens like

WHAT TO DO:
1. Hard Boil an egg
2. While it's boiling, cut the corn off the cob and put it in the blender along with the veggies.
3. Blend until it's a mush and doesn't resemble corn or veggies (you may have to add water to blend it all the way).
4. If your egg is ready, peel it and drop it in the blender
5. Blend in the egg until it doesn't resemble egg
6. Serve for a tasty protein filled treat!

You can cool it down for summer or warm it up for winter!
PLEASE NO NEGATIVE COMMENTS!!!!!!

No I said peel the hard boiled egg before putting it in the blender.
P.S. My chickens aren't laying yet. If yours are, throw the shell in there!

For calcium, you could just throw the shell in there anyway and blend it. Might be careful if your blender is plastic bodied though, as shells can scratch plastic up real good... trust me on that one.

I'm just lazy though, so if birds are getting an egg for protein, it just gets boiled, smashed and thrown out to them. LOL

My chickens won't eat regular hard boiled egg (SUPER PICKY EATERS!!!) or anything that resembles it! Plus they don't lay yet.

that's what I was thinking. What's
wrong with a little extra calcium?

Why go through all the trouble of a blender? MY chickens love picking the kernals off the corn cob and don't mind the eggshells at all.

That's what I do in the winter (boil the egg smash and feed, shells and all), but in the summer when I don't want to add extra cooking heat to the house, I throw eggs in the blender whole (shells and all) give it a good whirl then put in a glass bowl and cook in the microwave. I add whatever veggie scraps and milk or what not, whatever I have around.

Think this thread is a great idea for a quick treat. Why close it? You could even heat the mix in the winter or cool it for the summer.

Blending is a great way to hide "good stuff" for the picky eaters like yours.

Send me a pm if you still want the thread closed.
