Storage box brooder flooring?

I use puppy pads for the first three days, just until their legs are sorted out. Then I switch them over to pine bedding. Tried shavings at first, hated them. Switched over to pellets and will never go back; the chicks don't eat as much of them, they can bath in them once they break down, and they absorb water quickly => no smell.
