Stormcrow's Hobby Farm

I'll let you know at the end of the day. Have spent the morning unpacking the car, bringing plants back into the sunlight, emptying water reserves, walking the fence line (can't drive it with the tractor yet), putting furniture, smoker, patio table, etc back out, and the all important providing of fresh coffee to the love of my life.

Just finished filling the hole, and spreading 20 ton of 57 lime rock. another 6 loads, I think. That will at least cover the sand and clay. Once its driven in, we'll be able to start building up the road base.
Did you have that rock already on your property, or did you have to go get it today?

just not eat the front end of the car rutted out
:eek::lau That deserves both.

We had a real gully washer one night when I was a kid. Our driveway was a steep hill, unpaved. The ruts were over a foot deep the next morning.

My parents had the driveway blacktopped soon after that. Yay, no more ruts. But this was also before front wheel drive was common, and 4 wheel even less so. In the winter, people mistook our driveway for a road down to the lake (Torch Lake). 2am on Saturday, we'd awaken to the ZZZZZZZZ!!!!! of tires spinning as people tried to drive back up the icy hill.

My step dad said he was going to start charging people $50 to pull them out with the tractor.
