Stormcrow's Hobby Farm

Compound roof angle. Green house will tie into the existing rafters, under the existing roof line.
That's like our front porch. We want to build a wrap around porch to tie into the front porch, go around the side of the house, then around the back. We're going to hire some/most of it done, as hubby doesn't want to do the compound on the back. Or deal with being 8-10 feet off the ground for the decking. Yeah, it will be expensive, but we're going to live here the rest of our lives, and we're worth it. We also aren't as young as we used to be.

A "pony wall" is one that stands "short" usually 3 or 4' in height. Like the walls you see in a horse stall, that you can see over the top of. Basically, a solid fence.

But often used when doing foundation work, when what is, functionally, a wall, is set into the ground and then the "floor" is poured on top, such that the pony wall becomes the footer.

Using these. 90% light, 20 yr warranty.
This is similar to the polycarbonate we used on the roof of my greenhouse. My walls are 2x4 framing and vinyl windows.
Looks like Lowes must not be stocking mine anymore.

Mine is a bit more than 10 yrs old now. I have not had any problems with it other than 1 hail storm. We don't normally get hail but that day we had at least 1+ inch hail for quite some time. I ended up with only 2 dime size holes. I was surprised. I'm very pleased with how it's held up.

I looked at the double walled stuff too. I was concerned with fogging or moisture getting in the channels. Don't know if that is an issue?

I do like your plan.

Tuftex is the brand I had expected to use. Lowes changed vendors in the last year or so. and yes, you have to tape cut edges on the double wall stuff or it fogs, collects dust, then starts growing things inside the individual tubes/straws. Or so says the Mfg.

Yes, it's very much an issue. As water runs down the panel, it will eventually take off the tape on the cut edges. Doesn't matter if it's a top edge or a bottom edge, stuff finds its way inside.

Ponywall in progress. Picture incoming.

SLOW going. First course is most important, so of course it took all day. Second course going up quickly. More done today than yesterday.

Also, have a spot of ringworm (penny sized spot on the side of my leg). Very annoying. Apparently, I got it from one of my goats, who is also showing symptoms. So after the next 80# of mortar mix gets laid, its off to the store to get a ringworm treatment for my goats, and more goat mineral - in case its an opportunictic she couldn't control because she's feeling badly. I'm certainly not at peak.

Take care of yourselves!
