Weather, OT at work, changed daylight hours, and some necessary one-time trips and expenses.

Long way of saying "no". Oh, and its low 40s today, so I REALLY need to finish the green house. Only supposed to be 40s for one more day, then we return to unseasonably warm (and likely dry) for at least two weeks.

I brought bush bean plants through killing temps by covering them with two layers of bed sheets. I put tomato cages in the row of beans as I plant them to give the plants some support. Those worked really well as support for the sheets. Some clothes pins to secure the sheets around the ends of the row and anchor them to the tomato cages in case of wind and the beans were happy the next morning.

There was frost on the sheets several times. Stems/leaves that stuck up higher than the rest and touched the sheets were nipped and done, but the bulk of the plants were still alive.

We're expecting our first frost tonight, so I will put floating row covers over the collards and peas, to protect the lettuce I have growing in between.

I finally dug out the dahlias yesterday, the day before it was 30 at night, and it was dark and rainy, so I covered the dahlias with a BIG piece of cardboard, yesterday, I got home late again but I turned over the pots after cutting off the stalks and was able to dig out the bulbs, put them in the empty flower pot and take them inside 😅

We always have turkey (Butterball ), mashed potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry and lemon/lime meringue pie. Just the two of us with the dog. And the Lions game. And the Lions are in first place! This is uncharted territory.

Homegrown potatoes; onions, garlic (OF COURSE!!!), sage, and eggs in the stuffing. The rest comes from the store. :hmm
