So of course it's starting to rain. Anyhow, got the next row up.

We're expecting our first frost tonight, so I will put floating row covers over the collards and peas, to protect the lettuce I have growing in between.I brought bush bean plants through killing temps by covering them with two layers of bed sheets. I put tomato cages in the row of beans as I plant them to give the plants some support. Those worked really well as support for the sheets. Some clothes pins to secure the sheets around the ends of the row and anchor them to the tomato cages in case of wind and the beans were happy the next morning.
There was frost on the sheets several times. Stems/leaves that stuck up higher than the rest and touched the sheets were nipped and done, but the bulk of the plants were still alive.
Most likely, smoking a turkey breast. Assuming my new temp controller arrives on time. Otherwise we will sous vide a small leg of lamb and eat on it for a week. What's going to be on your table on Thanksgiving?
