Please keep in mind I have never built anything before or raised chickens. And the story begins.

6 weeks and 2 days ago I received my 14 little ones. (16 shipped two DOA)
I received 5 delewares, and 8 Rhode Island reds, also got the free rare chicken who turned out to be a golden laced wyndotte. I asked for 1 male of each and it worked out.

Thanks all. I'm taking their updated photos today. I'm very stressed out as I will be getting married the 12th and leaving Monday the 14th and won't be back until almost 1am the following TueSday for my honeymoon in Jamaica. I have someone from work coming to open the coop door to the run in the mornings and closing at nights. As well he will be keeping water changed and food plentiful. I'm nervous because even though I trust this person, they have 0 experience doing this for my chickens. Also my poor chickens are in a routine of being let into the yard every evening when I'm home from work. I told this person I wouldn't expect them to let them out in the evenings because they would have to stay there until the sun went down and they went in. I'm almost more nervous about them being nice enough to do that because then my fear of losing one or the temptation for them to run home when they realize they are gonna have to stay there for a couple hours scares me. This on top of the cockerels being 14 weeks old when I'm gone turning 15 while I'm gone has me on edge. For one I'm nervous about a sudden maturity of 1 or all 3 trying to mate with the hens in the run. Also I'm nervous of them becoming irratated being in the run and coop for 8 days with no free range time. It's not like I will be in another state as I am not sure if I will be able to be reached if their is a problem. Ahh so much stress

Oh and their eventual free roaming area when they are older and have a good flock protector.
