I love cats, but our neighbor's cat got into our run last week and killed my rooster. I caught the dang thing in the act. They are definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Sorry to hear about your lossI love cats, but our neighbor's cat got into our run last week and killed my rooster. I caught the dang thing in the act. They are definitely worth keeping an eye on.
OH yes, definitely. We had a hole in our wire that we were unaware of. It took that loss to make us hyper-aware of any nooks and crannies. I hope to get some electric fencing soon... Maybe in the spring.Sorry to hear about your loss
You need to predator proof your run somewhat. If a cat can get in,,,,, so can soooooo many other predators. Consider a HOT WIRE, and bait it. Both cats and raccoons learn quickly to stay away.
Nope. None at all. It's called nature. How do you feel about birds crapping on your stuff? At least my cat buries it.
FWIW, I live in the country, not some little city lot or neighborhood where I can reach out my window and shake hands with the neighbors. Lots of stuff craps in my yard. They're called wild animals.
Yes, thankfully you do not live anywhere near me.

Yeah, glad you don't live near me, either. We wouldn't be buddies. I won't even bother trying to change your flawed logic that cats are supposed to be indoor pets or that it's unnatural for them to bury their scat.I live out in the country. Cats come and poop in my garden all the time. Again, I shoot them. And no, it's not "natural". They are an invasive species that are supposed to be indoor pets, not outdoor pests. I am so glad you don't live near me either!

I do like TNR I wish it was offered in my locality.Yes they do. Mine use the litter box in garage access, or bury somewhere in my yard. The cigars that I do find around belong to the Raccoons, opossums, and skunks that are plentiful in my urban neighborhood. There is also some scat left behind by coyotes. I do have to gather rabbit scat (goobers) to keep my dogs from munching on those.
For all the peeps that are not in favor of cats being outdoors, here is some interesting reading of a successful program. I rescued my ferals (ones in my avatar) living creatures, and put them thru the TNR, at my out of pocket expense. Should I have ended their life,,,
BTW the TNR program was adopted here in USA, from the UK, where it is successful.
