Stuck duckies?

Hey sorry to bother u all but I’m a bit worried about my duck eggs as it’s day 28 and I put a safety hole in yesterday morning but still nothing has happened should I start assisting? Yesterday day one died I think but if anybody has advise please help lol

I also checked the membrane and it was white so i put some coconut oil on and they still have a few veins

Had baby internal pipped before ypu made safety hole?
If so how long before you made the safety hole
If you made a safety hole it should have been tiny like a pin hole and you wouldn’t be able to see any membrane
How big of a hole did you make ?
With veins the baby isn’t ready so I would leave it be for awhile
Day 28 is just a approximate time
Some hatch before and some after
I go by what the duckling is doing and not the actual date
Use Vaseline to keep the membrane moist as it last way longer
But the coconut oil is better to see veins
I would check every 3 hours and see how it looks and coat the membrane again
It can take 24-48 hours for baby to hatch after an external pip

Did they ever internally pip? Can you post pictures?
Did you calibrate an additional thermometer prior to incubation to check the temp?

have they internally pipped? How big are the safety holes? Did you use a calibrated thermometer?
You mention not knowing the breed, where did you get the eggs? Were they shipped?
