Really? Bummer. That is why I chose that color. It is such a deep rich red. I guess not all the dye lots are as rich a red.

Ooooo, I am picturing this with Alethea's blue and latte square... Goergeous! OK nothing I've come up with so far seems worthy. Maybe I should start expanding my search.

I'm back to not getting notices and since nothing had come up I decided to check in. Glad I did as I'm about 4 pages behind. I was gone most of the day doing lodge business. It was kindergarten teachers recognition night at the Masonic Lodge and also my husbands birthday. I got a cake for everyone to enjoy and we had a lady do the hula dance for him. It was a good evening and the Lodge served tri tip, baked potao, sald and shrimp coctail and homemade rolls. There was homemade pie and the birthday cake for dessert.

I like those squares, such pretty colors. I still haven't got any more yarn. I need to get going on it. The runner is coming along. I worked on it at the Lodge tonight while waiting for hubby to get out of his meeting. My garden is doing well. I took a friend some green tomatoes as her husband has been wanting some fried green tomatoes. I have a lot of them along with summer squash. We had zucchini and squash for dinner the other night and I'll be picking another cabbage soon. I have flowers on everything, even okra and green beans, and little veggies on just about everything.

We finally have some cooler weather and the winds died down which I am thankful for.

Talking about your garden and okra reminded me of the beautiful blooms the okra plant gets! Seriously fantastic flower! I used to grow it for my Mom years ago but quit because she liked them when they were very small and then only right off the vine and that is hard to do when she didn't live there and wander the garden every day. Nobody eats it here. Maybe I should grow a couple of plants just for the flowers.

Yea for cooler weather! It's downright cold here. We had snow tuesday morning. This is the third year in a row we've had snow in June. I brought my pots in for the last few nights but they should be able to go outside for the rest of the week. I will be planting them at the new house by then so they will have to be covered if we get any more hard freezes. It's supposed to be in the high 70s by Monday so I will look forward to that!

Oooo Sunny I have to agree w/ you about picturing Aletha's royal and Latte' square w/ the last one that Beth posted! Oh we are going to have some pretty squares!!!!

I tried to do a rectangle pattern out of my Beyond the Square book last night, but the directions were so confusing. I ended up pulling everything out, but the center part and now am using it as a book mark.

Maybe tonight I'll have better luck finding a pattern and can focus on giving one a try.

Betty~ Happy Birthday to you hubby! So glad the weather is giving you some relief! Oh I love fried green tomatoes. yum!!! Love the movie as well. Can't wait to see your table runner!

Sunny~ It blows my mind that you had snow on Tue. That is soooo crazy!!!! Bundle up and stay warm. It's been up & down here, but pleasant on most nights. We opened the window last night. DD was cold last week since they sleep in tree house like cabins that only have 3 walls, so I sent her an extra layer to dress in for sleeping.

I've been missing my daughter, so I decided to go spend this weekend with her. I'll pick her up from camp on Sat and take her to do whatever needs to be done, spend the night in a hotel and then take her back to camp for work on Sun morning. It will be short, but worth it!!! I'll take my crocheting along.

A couple of you entioned how nice my latte & royal sauare would look next to bownchickmom's square, so I held it up to the monitor next to her square. It will look very nice.
