Summer 2012 Granny "Square" Swap (sign ups closed)

Hey everybody~

I haven't had time to work on my swaps lately, but plan to work on them tonight. My squares always look kind of knotty on the back side.

Today the roofers showed up to fix the spring hail damage. Lots of banging going on all day long. They seem to be progressing along nicely. My DH's nephew, wife and 3 yr old son have been in town from New York. They came over this morning for a nice long visit before they have to head home tomorrow.

DD had her first day of college yesterday and says things went smooth. We miss her terribly, but have been super impressed w/ the college and she she seems so happy with her decision as well. She is going to come home this weekend to get the stray items that were left behind on dorm move in day.

Betty~ Your new puppy is sooooo adorable! Love those ears!

Lealonna~ Congratulations on the new baby peeps. It's so sweet to see a broody mamma and her babies!

bama gal~ Congratulations on the new grand baby! I hope your daughter has a speedy recovery.

Okay, I'll finish with the Silver Blue then :D Hope I don't run out again... :p

Now, for some very VERY exciting chicken news! I have two broody hens sitting on eggs, and today when I went out to the coop I heard cheeping! Look what I found! :D
What a precious surprise!
Well speaking for myself, if you look on the back side of my blocks and expect them to look like the front side .................................... well let's just say .................................. you will be dissapointed!!!! lol lol lol There is a reason it is called the "backside".
Oh good!

Good morning everyone. It sounds like everyone has a lot on their plate right now. Wow! Congratulations on the new baby. Hope she'll be fine real soon. New baby chicks, Wow. I have a silkie splash sitting on two eggs. I tried to discourage her due to our high summer heat but it didn't do anything for her except get her in a foul (or should I say "fowl" mood. lol)

I still have my company. We don't know when escrow will close. The inspection showed structural damage but the appraisal came in high enough to cover the repairs but they're not sure they want the higher payment. At this late date and after the first house falling through I hope they don't have to start all over again.

Here is a picture of my new gal Sadie. She'll be 3 months on the first. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Awww what a cutie! She has the same coloring my male, Sampson has. She is so little!
Hey Ladies!!!

How has everyone been doing? This project looks really good. I hope you will post some picts of the finished projects.
Did anyone post pictures from the Spring swap?
I thought there were pics posted on Betty's thread. I still need more squares to do the large blanket I had in mind so no finished projects for me yet.
Here is the new block I was talking about. It is a 12 inch square, not sure how many I will have time or yarn to make.

I've seen that pattern before. Very unique pattern and very cool.

The puppies are 4 days old now. Here are pics of them that my friend took after they were born. They have already started to get distinctive markings so I will need to get updated photos soon.

Hi canesisters~ Alethea posted a pic of her beautiful afghan she made w/ her spring swaps. Can't remember if anyone else posted pics of their projects. Mine are still in their plastic baggies in their mailing box.

Ha ha, mine are too. It's a shame really. I've taken them out to show them to people, but haven't done anything with them.

Canesisters-Someone else posted a picture of a throw from the last swap. It would Have been on that thread, which should still exist somewhere. It was beautiful.

Kassaundra-Great square. I've never seen anything like it.

Sunny-The puppies look like ink blots. I look forward to seeing them as they turn into little dogs.

I've been having a little bit of an issue incorperating the cafe latte thread, it is so much firmer (harder) then all the other colors, but I found a place it works well, the rectangles I've been making I have been puting the outer edges in the green thread, but it is working so much better in the firmer cafe latte.
