Thanks Kassaundra for stepping up to the plate to host a Fall Swap. I'm so glad you can do it. I know many people are interested in a Fall one so they could add to what they received last year and I am too swamped to host. I hope to be able to participate, but will wait until closer to the sign up dead line to see if i can do it. Love the idea of the 12 inchers thought. Would love to add those to my fall swaps from last year. I'm struggling to make it through this swap before I can think about the next.

Did I miss this post? I've been so busy I could have responded to it and not remember. Jeez! Keep reminding us Kassaundra! I can't think about more crochet right now but once this is done and life settles down again I might jump right in.

Thanks Sunny!!!! Well I think you are ahead of me. I ran out of cranberry working on a 12". I was just shy of having enough in that round. I tried a rectangle last night but got stumped, so I'll ry again later tonight. I think the rectangles will go faster if I can just get the pattern down. I stopped by Walmart and picked up a few skeins of Perfect Plum. It was on sale for $2.50!! Woohoooo!!!! Was thinking I could get the Cranberry color there but forgot that they don't carry the Vanna's Choice there.

I agree it's much easier to stick with one pattern, but I think part of the fun of the swap is trying out new patterns to see what you like. I love all the cute appliques you've added and definitely want to try them in the future.
Wow $2.50 is a great price! I love the Perfect Plum. I need to stock up on these colors I love before I can't get them anymore.

I love the appliques too but they are a lot more work than I realized they'd be. If I do them again I'll only do one set.
Well I'm glad you or Alethea didn't drop out of BYC! You both would be sorely missed!!!!
Well thank you!

Smitty-This swap would be a good adjunct for the squares from last year's Fall swap, but I'll understand if you can't make it this time, with your new business and everything.

I'd miss you, though. You were my first swap contact. I discovered these swaps last Fall but was too late to join. You were very kind about it, as well as friendly and encouraging. When I said I love to crochet but wasn't sophistated, you called me on that and said that, given how much I was working on, including the Milky Way afghan, not too worry about not being sophisticated enough.

Thanks Alethea! I really want to try to participate, but just can't wrap my head around jumping right into another one just yet esp. since I'm scrambling to finish my 2nd set of this swap.

Oh I have to agree that I think the up coming fall swap squares would blend nicely with what we did last year. I've been saving all my squares from all the BYC swaps I've participated in trying to figure out if I wanted to make more squares and stay within a particular color theme or make a crazy hodgepodge afghan. I think I will do both when I can find the time to make more squares to go with the themed ones.

Oh you do very lovely work. It takes a true artist to be able to create without a pattern. I just love how your Milky Way afghan turned out!

I'll just have to wait and see how I feel and how much time I have before the deadline sign up. If I can't participate I will definitely pop on from time to time to say hello. I'd miss everyone too much not to!

Oh I forgot to add that I finally figured out the rectangle pattern. I did the first one in solid Lav Blue, but it's wee bit too big. Sunny recommended I try in w/ the G hook, but I couldn't find mine, so had to use the H. I decided to try a 2nd one in perfect plum, but dropped the beginning chains to 23 instead of 25 and it came out to the right size. I figured I needed to get the pattern down before I try to start changing colors. I'm low on a Lav Blue, so heading out to JoAnn's now to see if they have some. I want to make sure I have enough of all this swap colors so I can make more squares to add to the swaps. I noticed yesterday at Walmart that they were out of the RH Shimmer (Ivory & Shamrock). I was sooooo excited to see the Perfect Plum on sale for $2.50. I'm now wishing I would have bought more than the 2 skeins.

Alethea, I was going to ask if you would post a photo of the Milky Way afghan, but then I thought I'd try searching BYC first and I found it. It's beautiful!!!
