So true! Can't quantify the love that goes into these things can ya?

I tried to get pics today of all the squares I've received so far and they came out terrible! :( I didn't want to take them out of the bags cause I was afraid I would get them mixed up and the light kept glaring off of the plastic. I couldn't see the pretty squares. You gals are gonna be so thrilled with what you get though.
ME TOO!!! LOL

YEA! Kathy's squares came today too! Ooooooh! They are sooo pretty! I cant wait to see everyone's reactions when they get them all!
What if you placed each square on top if it's plastic baggie?

It was, I got a bonus on the first trip down, I was single and met an awesome young gentleman from Germany who was also walking alone.

Good morning everyone! It's chilly this morning. The desert is finally cooling down. My chickens appreciate it and I'm getting more eggs. Everything is so hectic here that it's hard to get back to crocheting but I did last night. I started a snowflake afghan (frrebie from Red Heart) Hubby and I are on vacation but at home. We had to cancel our big trip to Branson as my son in laws mom passed away Sunday and he had to go back to WA. My daughter and the boys are in Victorville since the boys are in school so I have their 5 dogs and my pup. They're all so well behaved so it's not hard to take care of them. I take that back. My puppy isn't so well behaved at times but she is doing well what puppy's do. She's not much a puppy at 38 lbs. My daighter and her husband have a house in escrow and so far so good. If it continues then escrow should close no later than Oct. 30th and it could be sooner. My grandson will be home on leave any day now but what the heck....what's one more, right?

Since I mailed out my blocks Monday you should be getting them soon Sunny. I hope you all like mine. Can't wait to see everyone else's. I finished crocheting the "Spring Swap" blcks together and as soon as I get a chance I'll post pix of the finished project. Gotta go! My coffe awaits. Have a great weekend all.....

I teach all subjects in 6th grade, but used to teach strictly math at the high school level. I'm also a STEM teacher and I prefer Science, and I prefer Math and Science to anything else!!! We have a lot of female STEM teachers here, not a lot of men in ANY area!

Love the Grand Canyon! One of my favorite places on the planet. *Not that I've seen much of the planet mind you.* I have family in AZ and when I was a kid we would stop there at least twice a year. Took my Hubby there after we were married and he had never been there before! Imagine living in the west for 40 years and never seeing the Grand Canyon!!!

Yep, I only have 1 more applique to do, which will be done by lunch (hopefully there will be no big distractions before then), then I will go help Luna with hers. She is doing 6" basic grannys so it should be easy to knock these out in a day or 2.
My house is definitely earth tones mixed with fall colors. I love the warm colors. Makes me feel all cozy when I come home.
Haha! No worries. They should get here in plenty of time.
Do you teach math specifically or general ed? I always planned to go on to teach math at the University level but by the time I got my second degree I was so burned out and soooo tired of being poor (I worked my way through college so money was always tight and you can only eat so much Top Ramen) that I decided to teach elementary school instead. I started out subbing at elementary schools and JR & High schools for Math and Science (the only 2 subjects I'm cleared for at that level). Then I got a great offer to teach science at my son'd grade school. LOVED that job!!! Then Hubby moved us to Reno. Nevada doesn't believe in paying their teachers enough to pay for gas and lunch. It just didn't pay to teach here.

Just curious. I love to hear of women teaching math or any of the sciences. Not just math.
*I wonder now if I'm rambling just to procrastinate on crocheting. OK off to get my work finished.*

I can't wait to put that one together! Its exciting! Oh and even more exciting...took dd to prenatal clinic today and her ultrasound was great. The baby has gained, from 3lbs14oz up to 5lbs 6oz.
Hard to believe(sarcastic tone)...stop mom from hurling for 6 months and the baby gains weight! I'm still a bit peeved by it all if you couldn't tell. Anyway, baby and dd are doing good, she only has 4 or so weeks left and even if she delivered in 2 weeks I think she'll be fine. Ahhhh, long day. Now I'm going to work on my fall swap squares. Have a great evening!
Cathy
Can't blame you for having a tone! That just sounds so outrageous to me! Having gone through the all day "morning" sickness with my first, and seeing how worried the doc got immediately, it is hard for me to imagine her doc did nothing! :( So exciting to hear that she is doing so well now though!!! Awesome that your little grand daughter is gaining weight well!!! She is gonna do very well. 5+ lbs is soooo much better. That is just fantastic!!!!!

Also... Guess what? I got your squares today too!!! They are lovely! I am so super excited to see everyone's reactions when they get them!!!

Oh my gosh! There are sooooo many of them already! What I am gonna do is take out a few and take one pic of each person's squares. Only a few will fit in a frame anyway. That way folks at least get to see a representative sample from each person. That may take me a couple days but I will get to it.

I got them today! Apparently we had a substitute mail carrier and she wasn't sure about my dogs so when she drove up to the house and saw the dogs out she just left and put a slip in the box telling me to pick them up at the P.O. after the 4th. So we drove into town and picked them up today. :) So excited! They are beautiful!

Hope they get into the house sooner! Sound like you are gonna get even more crowded very soon!

VERY Cool! :)

Sunny-I think that's a good idea, to take a representative picture of each person's squares. I look forward to seeing them.

Did mine arrive? They were mailed some time ago and would have been one of the first sets to get there.

Oh Dear, I'm sorry. I thought I'd posted that I received yours, Beth's and Diana's on the same day. Yes they were the first to arrive.

You have really outdone yourself making all these beautiful squares for us. Especially when you are not receiving any yourself. Thank you sooo much!
