Just read Sooley by John Grisham.
I liked it, he always writes a good story, but if you hate basketball you might not like it

Well, I enjoyed Conroy's My Losing Season. Not a huge basketball fan, but I don't mind it if the writing is good. I did teach a certain young prodigy who is now with the Atlanta Hawks.

@aart, that one is on my holds list. It might take 8 weeks or so. I also liked Where the Crawdads Sing. Lots of nature and a good story.

Might be worth a reread.
I probably read others of his too.

Googled a bit, ordered King Rat from Library.
I read all the Shogun series, fascinating stuff.

More for my list. I'm.enjoying Every Now and Then. It reminds me more of Divine Sisters of the Ya Ya Sisterhood than Where the Crawdad's Sing. I'll let you guys know how I feel when I finish it.
