I have Partridge Chantes, and I'm working on Columbian and Black. It's just at the beginning of those projects, though. They lay okay for the most part, but they go broody worse than Silkies and bantam Cochins combined!!
What do all of you do when you hatch all those eggs? Why do people do this, to increase their flocks or are they doing it to get aspecific look or why? What do they do with all the roosters that hatch? Just curious and trying to learn. Can you do this all year long? Do you incubate in your house and keep them inside for a period of time?
Some I grow out to add to my breeding flocks....others I sell to help pay the feed bill. I sell my excess roosters at the local poultry auction. I used to hatch year round, but dpn't so much anymore. I hatch in my basement and depending on the time of year and the temps they stay in the house for a couple of weeks or go out to brooders outside.
