Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

I was fortunate, with one of mine that was in a homemade styrofoam cooler incubator I had a paper towel in the bottom of it and it just laid on it and absorbed the yolk with me not having to do anything else. It was alone though so no other chick could step on it or break it. Some people do put them in a cup to keep them from breaking it themselves but I was actually afraid to touch it in fear that I would break it and it worked out fine for me. Good Luck, I hope she makes it.
Thank you! I will probably just leave him to absorb from there. What if it breaks loose? Will it hurt him? I should know this.

I am not for sure but I have heard of some people loosing them from the yolk sac bursting. I pray that does not happen. My setup had a solid bottom to it with no holes so hopefully it will be alright. The incubator I am using right now has shelf liner in the bottom of it to cover any holes and if anything hatches out it will be able to have support without slipping and falling. that is what I do with mine.

You are most welcome and I hope I was of some help to you.

I don’t really see a yolk more like the egg goo clump
but picture is hard ti tell
Yolk will be a yellow and go is brown / green colour
I get a separate bowl and place dry paper towel under baby if they do have a little yolk left

Will do if this happens again. I'm really hoping everything's fine. Nothing was bulging out of his vent so that's good.

I’m thinking it was egg goo and not yolk by the pictures
This was my baby that I thuight was in the air cell but bruised right beside it and I misjudged and lost it
Baby was almost absorbed to. But this is was the yolk looks like
Just for future references

When the egg gets bruised and never hatches how can we help the duckling? I have had that happen before and was not sure what went wrong with the egg or how to handle it. After opening the egg later on I found a fully formed duck with no veins or egg yolk and it broke my heart.
