Just sit with them lots
Offer treats in your hand
Every night I sit in the coop and sing them to sleep
It’s fun ti watch how they settle right down and close their eyes
I know with only 2 @BelovedBirds spent a lot of time with her babies and hers are very loving towards her
Yes
I spent hours upon hours with them when they were babies

Dougie did go through the "don't touch me!" Phase as a teenager, she was never super affectionate as a baby, either, despite imprinting. Whereas Sprightly would sit in my arms, stretch her neck out, laying down, being stroked to sleep.
I thought that was it with Dougie, she had grown up, which was fine- but once she was a young adult she suddenly started to enjoy affection, and learned to ask for pick ups!
They've both been that way ever since.

Although I am still capable of accidently spooking them!! Just now I went to stroke Dougie while she was distracted and she spooked, I called her back showing it was just me, and she came back and let me stroke her. They're very special birds, I adore them

It seems they are somewhat like my kids were. As toddlers they loved the hugs and kisses but then they became teenagers and it was a whole different story. A couple of them didn't mind the hugs and kisses but one thought absolutely NOT! As adult ducks mine eat out of my hands except my little drake calls and my Mallard Hens. Everyone else is there to get the lettuce that they love. Good luck with yours. I am getting two babies tomorrow so hopefully they will be friendly as I have always held my babies and even sang to them. Maybe that's why they don't want to be that close to me when they are teenagers!!! LOL
Aww, hope it goes well!
Maybe thats why, shouldnt they be happy with clean water🤣
They were fine with me picking them up until exactly 5 weeks.
Exactly! 😂I can't believe it's been over 5 weeks!! I remember I came back to BYC right about when you got yours. Time flies.

Yeah, it is harder when they're more attached to each other than you.
The teen stage is when they fear everything
Then the hormone stage happens
After that they settle down again
None of mine are aggressive when I pick them up
The ones that are more scared will flap the wings but once I get them tucked in they settle down
None of them bite me when held
That’s all I’m really worried about as the bites hurt
Really? I guess mine never have bitten me as adults, as they're always too squeamish to even get that close. I always thought duck bites are just ticklish, they are as ducklings. Goose bites scare me.

Ducks can bite hard too 😂
My one drake when I kept him away from his lady when she was broody as she was to scared ti even get a drink cause he would mate her he got really aggressive towards me
Would bite my arms and legs
I worked with him lots after that and now he hasn’t bothered me to much
I find with him it’s only when I keep him separated from her

7 weeks old!!! I think im still right on genders/breed. Both are females, even though i for sure thought the blue one was a male. And i think Toxic is a Ancona well Tsunami is a Blue Swedish.
