[New duck mommy 2021]

I love this! I am abused everyday by my male Pekin. I have bruises up and down my arms! He wakes up and gets out of his cage to bite me. He bites me if I take my female out of the pool he comes running at me crazy...lol I love them so much!

You are to close to his girl and he is letting you know that
My boys have been pretty good this summer. Last summer I had to wear rubber boots and carry a pool noodle
Today though my one boy was terrible
I have one broody girl. ( not even one of his girls ) hatching babies and his 2 ladies were in other crates laying eggs
I came in to check on broody mom and was greeted with some painful toe bites
He is lucky I adore him and understand he was just doing what he knows and that’s protect those girls

We have at least one
Mom is talking away and keeps putting head down to check eggs and I happened to get lucky to see this one peek up
Hopefully by morning she lets me see them all

Everyone looks great this morning
The second yellow one is behind the other yellow
Looks like we got a good mix of colours
I was so nervous and mom did amazing
Only a year old and first time broody
I’ll get better pics when she brings them out

Oh absolutely Beautiful!!!! It's always amazing when a young one does so well at hatching and caring for them. I was so happy when my young Mallard took such good care of raising her 11 when she was only 9 months old herself. They seem to know what they are doing for sure at times. Thanks for sharing, I love pictures of those babies!!!

Bring on the thunder then, I am still trying to figure out if my month old 3 Mallard and one half black Swedish duckings are drakes or hens, lol.

Well I got my wish, we had a bad storm last night with tons of thunder and lightning. I just didn't want to go out in the pen to hear them quack! It was pouring so that was my own fault. Darn, now another two weeks probably to hear a quack out of one of them if there is one. LOL

How is Pingy now? Did he get better? Can you give us an update?

Poor duckies. I think white potatoes, sweet potatoes and some canned fish has niacin, if that's helpful.

The muscovy are back to usual and out foraging. They will continue to have Rooster Booster Poultry Cell in their water and brewer's yeast on their duck pellets.

The little pekin is not out of the woods as he is not eating very much. He did find and eat a worm in his wading pool this morning and I wondered if I might get some minnows from somewhere for him. As you mention fish, I think I will try offering him a little sardine broken up into ducky bite sized pieces. I have cans of sardines in water as my puppy prefers fish to canned dog food!! Maybe my pekin will like it too!

Thanks for the update. I was wondering how he was doing. Prayers for him to get better soon. Hopefully he will like the sardines. Our Walmart sells worms for fishing. I don't know if you have Walmart or if they would see them there also.
