My husband is the breadwinner so he handles all the finances. Hes very well aware how much money I spend on my animals :lau
I'm not too crazy, though. He gives me a lot of leeway because I have shown good judgment. I try not to get carried away because I want to be respectful of him and how hard he works to provide for us.

i can't help but wonder if that was written for his benefit... are you wondering if he reads your posts ? (qwack once for yes... )

I earn more than my spouse, (he spends more than I do, but he is much better at finding great prices on things like groceries, so that is in part his 'job' in our relationship to spend some of the money) but we both have to be gentle at the moment... we have some projects in the planning stages, and there are some things that will be tight as they get going.

that said... I will cut other things before I cut lettuce for their digestion and mealworms for their fun. I suspect he would not be quite so generous when he gives them meal worms if he knew how much they cost though ;)

I tried breeding mealworms and it was a total mess. Who knew keeping a pest alive on purpose would be hard? Maybe I should try to breed mosquitoes, I may end the whole mosquito population in my area by doing my best to make them reproduce.

in all seriousness... it is beautiful that you respect him. Eventually the lack of respect is what wears out the trust in a relationship. He likely doesn't mind the money you spend on the ducks (at least when things are good and you can afford it), because he knows you respect the limits of good sense.

I may have to order some of these! Thanks for the link.

I like that the drain is on the side. I had one that was on the bottom floor, and was really hard to get to drain.

I would also suggest getting a vinyl patch kit to have on hand. Mine lasted a few years, with a few patch jobs, but overall, not bad for the money.

How did you drain that one?

He should do just fine :)

Yall I'm honestly so hypocritical. I will act all confused when I see bad grammar or things that look off, while knowing darn well I am the creator of typos
Don't worry, I'm the same
if your sister is not a duck-mom herself (in which case she would have had the shower in your livingroom next to the brooder and made the whole thing about the eggs), she would be pretty bummed you chose something she keeps in the fridge next to old cheese, over her special day...

oh, when you do call home and check on the eggs, remember to first ask your spouse how HE is doing (if it is just "go stand next to the eggs and turn the camera on them" as soon as he picks up... you may need to make time for a marriage councilor when you get home)

wish we could baby sit for you... you could set up a webcam and we could watch for you... we can then call your local 911 if the humidity seems off or one starts to rock...
All words of wisdom 🤣
The single cutest thing?

Oh boy, me too... my biggest pet peeve is when people muddle up "there", "their" and "they're". And I'm so tired I've done it a handful of the times in the past week. I hang my head in shame and cringe at myself.

😂My pet peeve is autocorrect always changing "were" to "we're" and vice versa when I need the opposite :smack.
They cute too. But come on baby ducklings can’t be beat!
You may not have realized it yet, but you have just started a war with Dougie/Sprightly and @BelovedBirds
