Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

No need to apologize! But yeah, most likely. They were building something in a nearby house, and one day the whole neighborhood heard her screaming, and after a few minutes of trying to locate her, she was gone. It's important to note that she had been out of the property for two days at this point, I just didn't have a net big and long enough to catch her, because she was WILD, and would fly when you got too close. Seems like the builders did what I couldn't. I was giving her water in a paint tray and I threw food near her daily as well. Now the reason I believe it was them is because the paint tray went missing along with the hen, and second of all the car the builders used to get around left around the same time
Aw. That's sad.

I didn't realize caught meant run over.

My girls are all domesticated, and eat out my hands. Though currently one of them bites me because she doesn't want me to steal her eggs. Lol

No, I used caught very literally. They stole her, or at least that's what I believe, since the paint tray was nowhere to be found, and their car left shortly after. She probably ended up being dinner. It could have been a fox attack but we haven't had one in three years, nor did I find any feathers. Most of my birds are relatively friendly as well. They're not super friendly, but definitely tolerate me. Obviously he treats his hens much different because she was wild (and bald). Mine become flat like a pancake and growl when I get close to the nest

You are! May I ask, did you take a picture of them in that position and then you drew it, or did you just draw them completely out of memory
I used reference photos
I first drew spright from a picture I liked, then found one of Dougie and added her in
Used another couple pictures for reference to get the right lighting I wanted
And yeah

I rarely draw from memory, I can only do that with parrots and horses. Lol!

I'm jealous, my version of a horse drawn from my memory looks more like a dog :lau ! Either way, this is an awfully beautiful painting. In general, for some reason ducks seem to look so perfect in paintings

Practice makes perfect!
I have to paint another canvas for my niece now, she had commanded me to paint her a mummy duck, daddy duck and baby duck.... sigh
