She is beautiful for sure!!! Do you know for sure it is a girl? I didn't know if it got sexed young or if there was a way to tell in Geese.

She was keeping the goslings but somehow I ended up with one

I believe I mentioned it was moth season here?

So, there is a bug zapper set up in my garage right now... And it zapped enough moths that I literally filled up a bowl and gave it to the ducks... With some nutritional yeast over it, because my life isn't wierd enough with serving them dead insects. I need to add vitamins...

The ducks were actually not as happy with the treat as I thought they would be. They were interested in hunting the not quite dead moths, but it took them at least 5 minutes to realize they could just eat the dead ones.

I got my young Muscovy to stop going broody by taking the eggs from her. It took about three days but she finally has given up and is enjoying life again instead of trying to sit on her eggs. I hope yours gives up soon too.

I actually want my girls to sit, even though the eggs won't hatch- as they lay too many eggs, their bodies are struggling so I'm trying to get them broody so that they take a break- though, I was aiming specifically for Sprightly and got Dougie instead. Lol!
It's a good idea for her too though

Sprightly feels very abused today!
Dougie is spending all day with her eggs, and poor Spright is bored and lonely. She wants to be outside, because it's nice weather. But she's all alone so has ended up sitting behind a box. All day
She's very upset.
I'm going to take her for a walk around the garden in a minute to cheer her up.

Second school has finished their dictator hatch
Out of 8 eggs in lockdown they have 7 little babies
We got another black Swedish looking one and a chocolate Swedish look
I know mom is pekin / khaki cross cause I saw her lay the egg. She is chocolate in colour with mallard eye markings dad would be my blue Swedish as I see him chase her all the time
That’s the only egg I was able to know who mom was for sure as I marked it immediately after she laid it

We only got 2 bantam chicks out of 9 eggs that went into lockdown
They really didn’t look good and I didn’t think we would get shy to hatch
I think my turner cups were to big for bantam eggs and weren’t turning them

At least the class got 2 to see them

While checking on Sprightly's nest (I'm trying to get her to use it)- Dougie got very upset with me! Too close to her nest, so the angry hissing started!
I dont take it personally
I'm actually rather proud of her, she's so protective!
Kinda sounded like an angry hoover though.

I don’t get hissed at by daisy , nugget or dasher I get soft talks and I can reach in and pet them
But chest is on some eggs and last night I learned not all ducks are as chill as my other girls
I won’t be sticking my hand in her nesting crate
