I've been abused!
Dougie has gone broody, very much so. And even though the eggs are unfertilised, I'm letting her sit in an effort to stop her from laying for a while. (Long story), I'm hoping her sister will join her and also stop laying.

But, this sassy lil thing!!

Her new nickname is "moody broody". She didn't approve, but that's because she's moody.
Seriously, this girlie will be a great mama someday. I'm sure she will. She could prove me wrong of course. But I'll let her try someday.
Just imagine her running about with a line of fluffy little dictators running along behind. Imagine the trouble she'd teach them.

I got my young Muscovy to stop going broody by taking the eggs from her. It took about three days but she finally has given up and is enjoying life again instead of trying to sit on her eggs. I hope yours gives up soon too.

I'm a duck keeper
This spring I hatched 14 in the incubator, so I have 18 now, and two of my adult ducks have gone broody, with over a dozen eggs in each of their nests. They are all Rouen from Cackle Hatchery, so I'm planning on selling some hatching eggs next year!
