Supposed to be a buff, but...

Hello BYCers. Very new here! And new to keeping chickens, so you might be seeing lots of me.

Two and a half weeks ago we picked up three chicks from our local IFA. One was supposed to be a buff Orpington, but as she’s growing feathers she’s very mottled and I’m wondering if she might be a jubilee or a buff/jubilee cross.

These pictures are from their first short romp outside last Sunday. She’s sprouting feathers all over now.

Any thoughts? What could she be?

Looks like a RIR or some sort of Production red. The white feet are throwing that off though.

Agreed, Speckled Sussex chick this age would still show stripe on the face and arrow on top of the head.

Wow. I have three Buff Orpingtons that I got March 15 and they are so uniformly colored that I still can’t tell them apart exactly.

The patterns on the feathers are definitely very similar! I wouldn’t mind an Easter Egger! How are they personality-wise?
