Surgery a few days ago, was doing great, now lethargic

I'm sorry for being gone, I am back. It looks like someone else has answered the question about drinking.

If you need to tube feed here is an article that I found invaluable when I was medicating one of my sick chickens last year.

I worried about shock because a bird recovering from surgery might have an internal complication.
Seems everything that can go wrong has for her.

Try to think positive. She's in good hands. She will respond once you get the sugar, water, electrolytes and Nutri-drench into her. Try to get a total of one-fourth cup to 1/2 cup of the liquid mixture into her. Wake her up. She isn't supposed to sleep right now. Encourage her to stand up. Talk to her.

Do you have the plastic tubing I described? It will get the liquids into her much more quickly and this can make a big difference to her current condition.

You're always very kind on here. Thank you.

I just got about an eight of a cup of sugar water into her via syringe. She seems weak.

I'm trying to think of any tubing I would have but really don't think I do. I do bigger syringes than my 1ml one but was worried they may be too big?

After, she went and took a sip of water herself but goes right back to being so out of it.

Be sure there's at least a teaspoon of sugar to a cup if liquid. The sugar will raise her glucose and help her brain, her muscles, her heart, and other organs. Rest as much as you need to in between doing the syringing.
No improvement this morning. :( Exactly the same as last night

I gave her more sugar water this morning and the Nutri Dench and prescription meds.

What does this mean? Will she get better?

Time will tell. She's such a strong little hen, I think we're all rooting for her.
Have you gotten some food into her? Have you tried offering her most favourite treats? When my girls (ducks though, not chickens) are unwell, I always go for wet feed, scrambled eggs, and a warm oaty mash (with vitamins added in). I find those things usually get their interest. Is she drinking anything, on her own?
