Surviving Minnesota!

Oh Oh. LOL. Hmmmmm Ralphie? How are you responding to this? Just curiousity on my part.

Jerry is not referring to me, he knows I am always right.... He is talking about the guy on the EE thread that sexes his birds by dangling a rock or coin or mystically piece of poop over the bird and if it spins right it is a boy and left it is a girl or some other nonsense like this...

Yes, he truly does that and claims it is never wrong...... He said we need to have certain magnetic fields in our bodies to get it to work or something...... I think we could just use a magic 8 ball too..

I responded very nicely I did not want to get a nasty gram and double secret probation again, for telling him how crazy he is....

No. It's really weird. He's a pretty type A personality and remembers packing it. Double bagging it. There is some hidey holes in that runaboutthat run in between the fiberglass floor and hull. And without sawing the boat apart... Idk. But we've tried ringing it in the only 3 spots it can be. And nothing. I'm due for an upgrade but I think I'll let him have it. I'll replace mine in October when his upgrade comes into play. It's not that far away.

Okay as Holm would say: Prepare yourself for a photo bomb. Here are the photos from the other night.

Pearl.

Kitty and Hattie.

The Illini. The bleeding heart next to the coop stripped down. LOL. It didn't have a chance in Hades. They are after Blackberry leaves now, like their developer.

The coop. Big girls on the high roost. Littles go on the Ash log.

June Carter and Patsy Cline.

June Bug. She has become such a friendly bird.

Dixie Doo.

I think I've become obsessed with her. She's Totally! inappropriate for my set up. But ever since she's converted eggs into chicks...I'm totally fascinated. She probably has the most natural life. Brooding, chick raising, ranging. She really likes Patsy and June and Hopefully those girls will remain close flock mates with her.

Patsy with her Foster mom. Or the weird hen that finds her food...?

Okay. Once again I know nothing about showing birds. But look at the back and tail on that Welsummer. Straight as an arrow.
@Minniechickmama I just love these birds....

I need some of these! they are amazing!....

I know! They are very neat. The one has various shades of blue feathers...making her almost dapple. And the beard on the other is super puffy. I ordered up lavs but these blues are just as lovely. The lavender glows in the woods too. I'm just a little worried about her...

I am a little afraid Ethel lost 4 of her keets today in the deluge

We got 3 inches of rain between 11:45 and 4pm.. I just came from locking the shed. In this warmer weather I wait until it is 70 out as to not over heat the chicks. I forgotto check on Ethel after the storm. I checked on everything else and it looked ok. Ethel was not around.

I thought she would take care of her Keets, it might have been too big of a task for her. There is not much I could have done anyways. When I locked the shed she was in it with just 2 keets that look drenched. Rain is the enemy of keets. The storm came up so fast, I had all I could do to get the doors secured enough to stop the drafts in the brooder shed.

I am hoping they went into a turkey apartment or are being typical Juvenile delinquent keets and will show up tomorrow. I gave Ethel a hug, she seems sad, or I could be projecting on her. Hard to say.

Anyways fingers crossed I find them tomorrow...

PS this was the largest fastest rain I have gotten this year, or since I got the rain gauge....
