Surviving Minnesota!

Judy is at the Wicked Witches house. So I am home alone. While doing the dishes I got a great idea.

I am going to sell only female chicks next year. I am going to work on getting my Chakras aligned and my cosmic magnetism correct with the universe. As soon as I accomplish that, which I figure will take about 3 days, I will be sexing my chicks in the egg.

I will dangle the needle over the egg and see which way it spins and wiggles. I will then sell the male eggs and hatch the female eggs.

This should increase customer satisfaction and save me the expense of hatching roosters and the pain of sending them to Freezer camp..

A true win/win again.

Yeah that's right. They've been through special bird processing. :)

As Norton used to say, Ralphie boy you are a good one to stimulate the economy. A person must be a certain age to recognize what this a reference to, and Ralphie you may not be old enough but Jerry is.

Ralphie, as you get to the point that you are deciding which PC cockerels may be excess save one for me. In addition as you are going forward in your planning if you have excess EE pullets keep me in mind. I am happy to pay the going rate for whatever you might have.

The storm damage up here is quite remarkable, and I am lucky to have dodged a bullet on this one. One of my wife's employees had his garage totally destroyed by fallen trees, and many are yet without power. My wife and MIL went to the cabin yesterday to deal with freezer and refrigerator only to find that the power came on an hour before they arrived. They did have to remove some items for immediate use, but it was a much better outcome than anticipated The neighbor told her a friend of his had caught 8 Walleyes the evening before, so now she wishes to go fishing.

I have lost two roosters in the last week. One to injury and one to a predator. The one to a predator had very lethal spurs, but apparently they were not a deterrent? The one to predation must of been to a fox or coyote. He was free range, and I was gone for several hours.

I do recall that... My Dad use to listen to him. Jackie Gleason I remember the Jackie Gleason show too. BUT I do admit it is the edge of my memory, but we did not have a TV until I was 12ish. We almost lost it though when Dad had to watch the Beetles on Ed Sullivan, he was not a fan of them.

Posting pics of the EE's needing a home, this is 2 of the three- the other is in between these in color.
Free to BYC er's even if you just want them for the stew pot cause I really don't want to process them myself.

I went for a mushroom walk around my property today. I was bored, but boy did I find cool stuff. I have never really walked and looked at what was there in the last 40 years or so. Before that I doubt I carried unless I could shoot it.

Here are some of the things I found. So prepare for the photo bomb...

I think the one mushroom is "chickenfat mushroom" but I am not sure yet, again, I will know better if Judy awakens tomorrow....

I found black berries in a couple spots, I did not know they existed. However, they could just be a wild Black raspberry instead of blackberries as the fruit seems small. But there are tons. I might be able to make jam in a couple weeks.

When I photo bomb I really photo bomb..

If you can ID a mushroom help me out..Thanks
