Ralph these guys have Speckled sussex and dominique chicks for sale in the spring but they are hatchery quality.

I have seen their ads. I am going to try and find some better quality Dominiques if I get some. The Speckled Sussex I have will work for the few of them I want. They are hatchery quality but friendly and cute...

I am going to slowly switch to better birds, but I can't just dump on the sweet ones I have now.

BR I think we paid 2400 for our last Angus, that lives in our freezer now.

Ralph I am the same I can't just dump my girls either. It would be like a guy dumping is wife for Carrie Underwood and then her for Taylor Swift. But what horrible person would consider that?? Hehe

Is that a grass fed type cow from a local? Not looking for anything all pure organic or anything. Just a cow that had a happy life and a good hang time.

We get ours from a guy north of Princeton, they are all pasture fed and finished they are not organic, but they are as close as you will get without getting that. They were happy cows,,,,steers (is a steer can ever be truly happy, because after all he is a steer)

One day I held one for 30 seconds,
I think that terrible chicken screaming was it expressing joy at being held
