37 cups of carrots froze so far. Now back out to the chickens to collect eggs.

You go girl! Rock on! That is alot of frozen carrots. Will that do for your family this winter? You must have a large freezer or more than one?

Oh - that was my comment about the bird roosting on the bed post. Who has to clean up the mess? The response - they had dirt floors. What ?!? but then I remember using an outhouse at some peoples homes in Bloomington when I was growing up. Can you imagine those times? I just read somewhere from someone who misses the winter skies from when they had 'outdoor' plumbing. It was in Cappers Farm in the section where they reminisce.

I can relate. I use the outdoor 'plumbing' here in the farm all the time, sometimes you get a nice starlit night!

Busy day . Started out with blood work at the doctors office . Then went a hour north to pick up steel roofing and stuff . Got it direct from the small farm factory . About the same price as Menard"s but heavier gauge steel . So the maker made good money selling retail and I got better quality . Still got to check everything . I suspect I may be missing some small items . Not sure what is in those sealed boxes . I suspect it is the ridge vent . That young fella loaded faster than I could check or remember .

I still have half a row to dig but it will make for easy soup nights with the canned elk.

I have one medium sized freezer just well organized with 5 kids nothing lasts long here. so it won't last all winter but it always helps.
