Surviving Minnesota!

HA HA HA that is funny! but totally selfish of you! :)

NO no No. I am doing this for completely altruistic reasons. More for the good of mankind and Mother Earth. If I was to drive up to the lake and see the ice is too thin to fish, I have wasted a valuable resource driving there, I have polluted the air with said resource and wasted 20 work person hours. Not to mention the tax dollars I saved by not having the Sheriffs department looking for me and the ambulance on stand by.

In Addition some minnow would die in vain if I took them with me and could not get out on the ice.

A spud is slang for a potato,,

You use a potato and you will float if the ice breaks..

or it is something you chop/strike the ice with to see it is thick enough to walk on.
Thanks, never heard that term before. The ice just recently froze over around here, some of the smaller lakes were froze off and on(thin coating) but the larger ones just the last few days. I know some people are walking on them but i'm chicken. Wouldn't do it for awhile yet!!

Togo is the center of the universe so it is colder there in winter than anywhere else on earth, just for ice fishing. I will be safe though, I plan to send Judy out first to make sure the ice is thick enough.

W just saw someone on snowmobile going across the lake, but near shore. They might have made it ok.
