I sold 6 dozen eggs last night!!! The first time in ages I have had enough to sell!

The girls are laying pretty good right now. Excluding the Creamettes, of course.

    I bought them off stubhub

Good for you! I have been keeping a steady stream of sales through this winter which has been great. We are somewhere down near 60% efficiency for the layers but I say that isn't bad considering the short days and cold weather.

I had no problems last winter selling eggs when no one else had them. BUT my birds were all young'uns. This year they are pushing 2 and went through a hard molt and I stopped giving them artificial light until December when we went on vacation. I think all of those things made my egg production take a hit. PLUS I had less hens thanks to the Eagles.

I have been working of closing farm books for last year and we sold 270 dozen eggs for an average price of $3.20

We didn't start selling until mid July and didn't rally start getting into full stride until September. I look forward to seeing where this year takes us!

She's beautiful! I have a hen with blue ear lobes. She's a barnyard mix, so I don't even have a guess as to what she is. She started out laying a light brown egg and now lays a green egg. No joke.

    Thanks Minnesotanice.

I find it hard to believe I could find such acute bird in my flock and not know she was there. She actually has a good disposition too she did not even fight my holding her.

Just wondering. I know there was a place that was giving them away for half price.

Oh I was wondering if I missed something haha
I got mine from stub hub and they came in the mail last night. It is going to be chilly but we are Minnesotans so we probably won't even need to zip our coats.
