I just saw one of my females muscovy's is on a nest of eggs. I'll be able to get @duluthralphie some ducklings soon

@BantyChooks , what kind of space do they require? Do they use nest boxes? I'm still curious about them. I might just put it off as a project for next year. Well, unless I just happen to come across a pair.

Some people say 1 square foot per bird, but I like to give them more... I don't know about the nesting box, my neighbour doesn't use them but then again he is not exactly the most knowledgeable.

Stuck out in the run with hail and rain and wind. Glad my run is covered, panels up on 3 sides still...

I did not, the storm kinda blew up out of nowhere, totally unprepared. I did get to witness my poor neighbor trying to pick up his garbage cans, that blew over, they wouldn't stay up, ours were down too. I was thinking, why doesn't he wait for the storm to blow over, just then it started hailing and raining. Never saw an 80 year old man move so fast to get inside... Poor guy, probably catch pneumonia!

As well as the inventor of Ameraucanas, Jerry is our chicken genetics expert, expert tree root grafter and tree and shrub expert, and let's not forget mushrooms. I left off much more. Suffice it to say, he'd be really handy to have around especially if sheet hits the fan!

Yes that is me . Still tinkering with the genetics . Cuckoo and Lavender Cuckoo large fowl now . Morning everyone . Thunderstorms here . Four beautiful days in a row . So no complaints . Last 2 days were warm enough to open windows . Saturday was really sunny . Got a tinge of pink . Working on my summer tan . Gotta ease into those tans .

And here some of you thought Jerry was just the guy I gave chickens to so he could feed the coons.

That hail caught me off guard too. I was the guy stuck outside in it...Well actually I went out in it once it started, Judy had put the Turkeys to bed while I put the toads to bed. The turkeys fight her less than they do me at bedtime. She locked them in their pen shutting the door so they could not get in the coop. I ran out and opened the door so they could get out of the hail and into the coop.

They were all pushing against the door wanting into the coop.


The ground was white here with hail, looked like it had snowed, So silly who ever heard of snow in April?
