Surviving Minnesota!

I do!!!! They don't seem to care, on the Sabbath they refuse to work!

Actually I am finding the ones on the lights do lay more, and eat more than those outside in the cold with no lights. So I can verify EJB's theory on lights and feed.

I put 2 toad hens inside with the evil toad rooster. He treats them well in the cage and I get an egg or two a day from them after less than a week under lights. The out door toads are not laying. When I finish the larger pen inside I am bring another toad in. I will start hatching toads as soon as I can. I might get 2 generations again this year. I sure could use the "next phase" rooster I need...Hint..hint...hint...

I have what appear to be 3 cockerels that are about 4 weeks old. I could probally part with one as soon as you are ready for him. Or I could house him with some mircle grow for a few more months. :)

I took a little tumble this morning, banged up my knee and elbow pretty good. But that can not stop the forward progress on the coop. We finished the ginormous hatchery room, and one pen. Next up 5 more pens. I really should take some pictures.

Yes, you really should take some pictures and post them. By all means be careful out there.

I have found the cause of death...It appears to be one of these to the neck:
