I'm still not done with the fence, so she is stuck in the barn for now. I am hoping to get it done tomorrow.

@KlopKlop Ok, now after seeing how cold it is going to get -8 for a high on sunday, I think your combined coop idea may have merit. the dimensions you gave are plenty big for that many birds, as long as you have ventilation up high, it would be fine as long as they get along. also, aren't they used to free ranging together? I've not see your two coops though, so can't say for sure...

I have had 2 coops for quite a while. They would get along fine outside, but depending on the rooster, they may not be allowed inside the wrong coop. I have not noticed Ed running the birds out of the coop. The late great Brutus would stand at the door to the coop and not allow a chicken from the other coop inside, even though they could free range together just fine.

I guess it depends on how tolerant his rooster are, but you could be very right, they might get along fine.

Kloppers why not try introducing a chicken or two into the coop and see if it works or not. The next few days are not going to be pleasant for anyone I am afraid.

I think i am just going to work on sealing up some more of the separate coop. More space i think will out weigh the potential for extra body warmth in the single coop.

Great looking pony, Careful, I think she/he is lulling you into a sense of compliancy, before he/she attacks.....

Have to admit the kids look happy as pigs in mud with the pony though...

Oh my gosh, how wonderful! She is beautiful and the kids already in love with her. So cute! Now, are you getting another one? Or do you have goats or something? I've heard horses/ponies need compsnionship. A "herd" so to speak. Is that true?
