I named it Jerry and am going to let him live in a tiny jar without a lid in my room.

Now I understand if your mom says NO to the letting the bug live in your room.. What you say is -- fine Mom but if I don't let the bug live in my bedroom can we please compromise and let the ducks swim in the sink.. Guaranteed she'd be OK with that..
