Surviving Minnesota!

Good morning. Fun to see the pics from the show and to hear all the goings on.

It was a good weekend here too.
Halloween event was a success with lots of compliments. Yesterday got some much needed house cleaning. DH and DS put out a two man ladder stand. But with DH's blown L4-L5 he hobbled back home saying he needed an extension ladder because it was too much to get up. Physics can be a bear.
Cleaned some poop out of the coop. Took care of the nest boxes with new bedding. I have two birds that like to roost on a narrow shelf that I put my plug in strip in the winter. and they are pooping in inconvenient spaces and dirtying up the popular nest box. It just looks bad...it usually doesn't get inside. Nonetheless I'd like to block them off and teach them to roost where they should. I've got some ideas. but it would be building higher roosts than I like. But then they are light little hens with good wings so IDK...they'd probably be just fine. Just ideas.

Jerry: Looks like you have a gorgeous Maple tree there.
With the hard rain on Saturday night...alot of the Oaks dropped their leaves. They usually hang tough...but that rain was big droplets.

That maple is a Autumn blaze . I have 2 and they are always red no matter the weather . Seedlings are mostly good color . I gave some away . No seedlings this year . I will keep you in mind when I find some .

:woot Did I inspire you? Who’d you get them from?

Yes - and I have a small niece that wants to start showing buff Orps just like Morgan so we contacted Vern... the buffs are from Vern and the blacks are from Schachers. They are nice blacks I just can’t take pictures for crap.
I can’t get over how tiny they are and how tiny the eggs are. I feel like I am going to break them, I’m use to huge large fowl that take a 3rd hand to hold.

They are neat little birds. I told Vern at the State Fair I might want some one day haha. Don’t have room for them now..
