Well I have 4 chicks hatched this morning . More started . Only set 7 .

We have 9 inches of heavy wet sticky snow. Got the trails cleared. DH just jumped in the plow truck now. Snow coming lightly now. I heard it will go through the night. So it will be a double plowing. Easier on equipment that way too tho’.

Got a 5 mile ski in yesterday and two batches of soap.

I continue to get eggs from the pullets. No lights for the Marans or Barnie. Hard on feed. Easy on electricity I guess.

Just got back from my folks place. 15 miles further north. They have 12-14.

The snow is work but we get out there and enjoy it too.

The overnight snow didn’t accumulate much. So less than I thought it would be this Am. Thank goodness

It is difficult to know how much it has snowed here because it has rained so much. It is a real mess with about 3 to 4 inches of snow after it has been condensed by the rain It will be crusty ice as it cools off. The temp here was at 33 for more than 24 hours straight, but it is now less than 20.
These are trying conditions for sure.

Yah Ed. I hear you. It rained quite a bit with the snow we did get. Lots of moisture in that system. That's for sure. Did it bring your big snow pile down? Or are you still barely peeking over the snow banks?

We didn't get anything, lucky for us. Hope those of you who got snow are doing well.
Jamestown got hit hard again, this time over 2 feet, the rivers are going to be high this spring there will be lots of flooding in the Eastern half.

Oh My Gosh Layers! You're making me want Bantams!!!! Quit it!!!!
Those are majorly drool worthy birds there. I love them!!!

Poop is no longer soft and stinky in the coop and now Poop-cicles. Easy removal this morning. Thank goodness. I did have to wear a hat and mittens today however....

As I was removing said poop, Sunny Two and Patsy Kline were at the feeder and Sentry poked his head in the Pop Door and gave his best Tennessee Williams deep voiced seductive chortle to the big fluff bummed girls. OMGosh does he have the BEST voice for those girls. I mean he could chortle the telephone book to me. LOL.
