Surviving Minnesota!

Have we talked about cow hooves for chew toys here? My lab is just like her, demolished bones and toys but hooves can actually last. Except they can smell a bit. I buy them in bulk every 6-8 months

My wife does not allow them in the house, and they do not last all that long. Those huge legbones do last, but they get hauled all around the yard for a year.

Ivie: Why aren't you a mind reader? For heaven's sake. It's a woman's job to know everything!!!!

LOL.

We have $1000 cushion in our checking for bills and such. That we don't write in our ledger or "forget about" and then another $1000 that the bank gives us with small interest if we dip into it before they bounce us. Have not been bounced yet. Knock on wood. Hopefully never.

I actually do the majority of my plowing with the ATV.  I have chains on the rear and it seems to make a big difference on getting stuck and going sideways.

When I am on the ATV I can pretend I am enjoying life. On the bobcat it is all worklike.   I have not figured out which is faster. The ATV travels faster but has a 5 ft blade the Bobcat has a 9 ft blade..

I think I need more coffee to mull this over..

Oooooo a blade on the bobcat? That sounds nice!

It is, it is a 4 way blade so I can pile snow as high as I want and move it fairly fast. The blade is heavy enough to move dirt and do light dozing with too. It has a pin to stop it from Bending forward when pushing something that the springs are not heavy enough to hold. It also has places for pins if you want to set the angle for dozing dirt.

Sometime pushing dirt can over power the hydraulics on my old machine. It was reasonably priced too, I bought it from that guy that builds them in Otsego for $1700. I wish I had the "pin" on my bobcat I would like to have gotten the 6 way blade to compensate for the drop on the leading corner when turned sharply.

Ivie: I was so grumpy Saturday. I think it's the service you don't get in the stores anymore. The people stand around and stare at you. Make no effort to offer help or see if you are looking for something in particular.

It started off with a Menards run for a Water Softener. Which is a real unsexy way to spend $400. But I digress. Some 16 year old blonde girl running all of the Plumbing area apparently. (I mean what is menards thinking? and Where are the managers teaching these kids something?) I felt bad for her because I think she was a nice kid. But knew very little. And was a little too late with her help to load the softener onto the wiggly wheeled flat cart. (Big box --not too heavy. Just hard to grip)

A nicer store in Nisswa for Winter wear. Grown man...not budging to ask if I need help. Cool in response to questions.

I mean...what has happened to Minnesota Nice?! I think I like shopping on Tuesday nights better.

Ralphie, I think you should use the skid steer as it is a manly machine! It will do a better job on those drifts.
I got 2 or 3 inches of snow and it is not drifted too bad. My wife will plow with the ATV, and I do the shoveling. There is substantial shoveling. We have a long sidewalk with many steps from the garage to the house and of course the area in front of my out buildings.
Ralphie, you do recall that we could well get several more feet of snow between now and real Spring.

Here is from yesterday. Less 'winter wonderland', more 'wind blowing snow into your eyes and down your neck'

I won't be home in daylight until tomorrow evening so that is all I've got!
