Surviving Minnesota!

Well when it gets closer to the time...I will message you and see where you are with chicks. I may not be a large order though. I'm not sure if you have minimums for self delivery to God's Country...

Last Winter we had two months of snow up here. And this late starting winter here this year...may help in the adventure. If it becomes a weather trend for us over the next several years.

I love pears. I guess I just didn't think we could grow them around in these parts. ...Huh!

Shipova is a hybrid with Mountain ash or Whitebeam and pear . Said to be zone 3 . Partially self fruiting . Old variety . A little hard to find . Jung has that and Wisconsin hardy rated zone 3 . I would not buy a mountain ash to pollinate it . My research says Whitebeam was a parent and not Mountain Ash . So use another pear to pollinate . I suspect it is really self pollinating . The nurseries like to sell 2 trees .

A Lavender Cuckoo. That lays blue eggs. Oh my stars. How are they for laying longevity?

Good layers . Not sure on longevity . A project color of mine . So I keep improving and have not kept any to old age . My avatar is one of them .Took reserve any other variety this year with him . Competed against a large class of lavender . Lets see if I can post a pic .
