On the CLBs-- When I had already committed to buying them from Heidi, I did not realize they were a smallish bird with a smallish egg. I'm all over the Ameraucanas right now and am super excited that Jerry stumbled onto our thread. And his soon-to-be cabin location is well......very convenient for me!![]()
We planted the honey crisp in a Rock Retaining Wall. And it did fairly well until the bear stripped it. We had it surrounded with Russian Sage so the Deer pretty much walked right on by. At the time I didnt wrap the trunk up and I did note the sunscald a little later in it's short life. That whole retaining wall is a mess though. Going to pull everything out and I'm going to do a vegetable garden there...as my other Veggie garden is far from the house and this spot is close. And I'm getting old. And busy with Teenagers.
I almost feel guilty right now, as my wife is out plowing and I am in the house on the confuser. In my defence, I did help her put the plow on and I have shoveled the sidewalks and porches twice.
I am hoping this snow stays to cover my nursery beds in case it does get cold. The freeze and thaw process is difficult on the plants.
I could go out and supervise the plowing but that might lead to social conflict?

And kudos to your wife for getting out there in the plow! My DW has no problem staying in bed/inside while I handle the fun jobs like plowing and scooping out coops
Mind you i am not complaining as she is good about keeping up after laundry, dishes, and cleaning. It is a good deal for me! I still try to help out though with that stuff. I usually get folding duty :S
What is folding duty?
