Surviving Minnesota!

Ivie: I was so grumpy Saturday. I think it's the service you don't get in the stores anymore. The people stand around and stare at you. Make no effort to offer help or see if you are looking for something in particular.

It started off with a Menards run for a Water Softener. Which is a real unsexy way to spend $400. But I digress. Some 16 year old blonde girl running all of the Plumbing area apparently. (I mean what is menards thinking? and Where are the managers teaching these kids something?) I felt bad for her because I think she was a nice kid. But knew very little. And was a little too late with her help to load the softener onto the wiggly wheeled flat cart. (Big box --not too heavy. Just hard to grip)

A nicer store in Nisswa for Winter wear. Grown man...not budging to ask if I need help. Cool in response to questions.

I mean...what has happened to Minnesota Nice?! I think I like shopping on Tuesday nights better.

I KNOW! And thank you for 'GIRL' talk and understanding.

I am refusing to believe this!! I simply refuse! It is a wives tale!

They say March is the snowiest month! the good news is that even if it is, an early spring would mean it is warm between snowstorms and it melts.

I know that down here we aren't hurting for moisture and could do without a wet spring. My neighbor told me this weekend that this summer is predicted to be very dry and even drought like. he says that market analysts predict that could cause corn prices to jump. There have been so many good years in a row that prices are kind of stuck. Bad for farmers, but good for buyers like us (aka the corn in your chicken feed).

Ralphie: Your stories about the Menards guys seem to be par for the course with that operation it seems. I walked through an area adjacent to plumbing and 4 people were chatting at a stand,...like because it's Saturday and they have a job there, they shouldn't have to work though because it's the weekend. ugh ugh ugh. Left little blonde 16 year old to help in Plumbing all by herself.

Holm if you go to work at Menards, be agressive and ask people if they need help. It will make your day go by super fast and people won't give you dirty looks like you're slacking. Trust me on this. LOL. And the way it sounds you could probably run the whole s-show if 1/2 a finger's worth of effort. LOL.

I would have complained as well Ralphie. They need to earn their wage.

DL has an M state but they dont have the classes I need I dont think.

First two years are 95% generals and getting the junk stuff out of the way. Things I have never understood why we needed to take. I remember all my winner classes I took that fit into my schedule and not because I wanted them, just to meet the requirements.

Do those and stay at home and save a ton of money....

Took awhile to catch up . So the cockerel has no hen feathering in his mix . He was a late fall hatch that is on the small side . Late chicks often grow slow for me . Ralphie the odd egg is one I never set as I consider egg shape and such to be genetic . For meat birds I guess it is ok .

Went hunting monday . Went to breakfast with the wife and her siblings tuesday morning . Then tried to get a walk in at the ortho clinic for my knee . They do not do walk ins until 4 . So we went back before 4 . Got in and they drained the fluid and sent it to the lab . Did Xrays and shot steroid into knee . Knees looked good on xrays . Feels good today . So we ate out for supper then went to a movie . Got home before 10 .
